Summary
On the evening of October 3, 2024, two witnesses in Seaside, Oregon, reported a silent triangular object passing directly over their property. They described a metallic-gray craft approximately 30–35 feet (9–11 m) on each side, with bright lights positioned at its three points. The object was estimated to pass only about 200 feet (61 m) overhead and remained visible for roughly 20 seconds. The sighting was later investigated by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).

The sighting began at approximately 7:37 PM as one of the witnesses noticed two bright lights approaching the property from the south. He called his wife outside, and both watched as the object passed directly overhead before continuing toward the north-northwest. The entire observation reportedly lasted about 20 seconds. As the object approached, two steady bright lights were visible near two points of what the witnesses perceived as a triangular craft. Once it was overhead, a third, larger convex light became visible at the remaining point and appeared to flash. The primary witness described the object as metallic gray and estimated it to be approximately 30–35 feet on each side and around 200 feet above them. No visible conventional fuselage was reported. Most notably, both witnesses described the object as completely silent. The witnesses had lived near a small local airport for more than 25 years and told NUFORC that they were accustomed to seeing helicopters and small aircraft in the area. Neither witness photographed or filmed the object; according to their account, they did not want to leave the observation to retrieve a camera. The original report nevertheless includes drawings submitted in connection with the sighting. NUFORC investigator Keith Bickford later interviewed both witnesses by telephone on December 21, 2024. As part of the follow-up investigation, he also contacted the Seaside Police Department and found no additional reports of the incident.
